Sai Ram Dear National Presidents,

Loving Sai Rams!

Sai Ram Dear Sisters and Brothers:

I am writing on behalf of the Tutoring service activity wing of the SSSGC Zonal Committee for Education in Human Values (EHV) and Tutoring. The goal of this service wing is to tutor children in underserved or low-income schools or communities who may be facing challenges by providing personalized learning with the emphasis on strengthening subject comprehension, boosting confidence, and promoting academic independence. One of the initial tasks is to create and maintain a database of interested individuals who would like to join the pool of volunteers as tutors from which to draw when a need arises.

Are you interested in taking part in this service activity? If so, please click here to complete the form so we may contact you as needed.

Here are some key points:

1.The platform (at least for now) for this activity would be online tutoring.

2.The tutoring service will focus on English, Mathematics, and the Sciences.

3.The targeted audience are students in grades 1 through 12.

4.The ‘tutor-to-child’ ratio may be up to 1:3 (one tutor to three children), but in most cases will be 1:1.

5.The time commitment for each volunteer will be between 1 to 2 hours per week.

6.The availability of the tutor will be matched with the need/availability of the child(ren).

7.Volunteers will be requested to comply with the school/community compliance requirements, if applicable.

Additionally, we have an opportunity to help a youth group of a service organization to complete college and scholarship applications. If you are interested in participating in this activity, please use the link above to complete the form.

Sai Ram! Thank you for your time and initiative! We are hopeful that with a strong volunteer base, we can meet the needs of the children/youth.

Sincerely,

(Sainath Vadathirthanathan)
